The search is on for brave volunteers to take on a firewalk to raise crucial funds for a NESS providing lifeline support for people with sensory loss.
We’re asking the community to take on the challenge of walking on hot embers to help fund its vital work in the area.
The firewalk takes place on Friday, December 1 at 6pm on Queens Links in Aberdeen.
People of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to take part – and all participants will be supported by experienced professionals to ensure their safety.
All proceeds will go towards NESS’s programmes and services, including providing specialist equipment, support, and social activities that promote independence and inclusion for individuals with sensory impairments.
NESS is organising the event with Blaze, The Firewalking Experts, who have put on firewalks for 40 years.
It promises to be a night filled with courage and community spirit.
To register for the firewalk or make a donation, please click through here : NESS Firewalk Spectacle.
It costs £25 to enter and fundraisers are asked to raise at least £100. The registration fee includes a certificate, snack, and a drink.
Lorraine Middleton, community fundraising coordinator at NESS, said:
“At NESS we believe that everyone should be able to live their lives to the full and the firewalk embodies the determination and resilience in our community. A Firewalk tests your mental endurance and will take you to another level of not just walking on fire, but smashing through previously ‘impossible’ barriers, leaving you feeling empowered and it promises to be a night filled with courage and community spirit. You’ll not only help us raise much-needed funds, but also help more people find out about the work we do to support people with sight and hearing loss.”
